Nordic fair is an annual Scandinavian modern architecture event uniting beginner and professional level architects to share knowledge, show their work and discuss various architectural topics. The objective was to design a website which would invite participants to an architectural fair of 2019. As requested by the client, the style of the website was meant to resemble the event’s modern feel and theme.
The website was a great vehicle to present the event’s theme branding, tone and feel. It features beautiful photography throughout the website. Points of engagement such as video guide and speaker section were implemented for both beginner and veteran architects to spark interest. All elements were designed and grouped to be easily discerned against the white background.

One of the first steps to take when building a website is to wireframe it in order to establish and organize information architecture as well as lay down feasible ideas. It helps to discover suitable visual direction and communication.
Visual Design
One of the key points when designing the visual part of user interface for Nordic fair website was to make it modern and clean looking. To express that, I used bold and classic fonts which gave a heavy block look and didn’t appear too casual. Vertical and horizontal positions were used in headings and subheadings to mimic modern building architecture design. Cold blue was chosen to reflect the temperament of Scandinavian countries. Combined with generous white space, it created a feel of tidiness and clearness which was ideal for this event, audience and location.
